REGISTRATION - A MUST READ

Posted by Langley Curling Centre at Sep 17, 2020 12:42PM PDT ( 0 Comments )

POSTED SEP 17
Dear Members
Thank you for your continued patience. The ice is almost completed and we still plan to start Sep 27th pending guideline approval from TOL. Please understand that all actions required are what it means to curl this year. We have finally received guidelines acceptance from the TOL to use the outside of building to accept Registration. The building will not be open for anything other than the actual participation of sport.

Due to the high fees of on-line payment process we have opted not to use it this year. An in-person registration/payment has been set up. There will be Covid safety protocols but if you do not feel comfortable coming down you must e-mail your form and call with a credit card payment.

Included in your registration is a waiver that must be signed. No signature, no curling.

Please understand firmly that registration and/or payment CAN NOT be done when you arrive to curl. No person will step into the curling lounge if they have not paid and signed a waiver. This will be checked at the door.

FORMS ARE ON THE REGISTRATION BULLETIN ON THE HOME PAGE
Forms also available on-site registration

Registration costs are on the form. Note we are collecting payments for the first half only and pricing reflects that amount. All leagues will get 10 weeks.

Registration Dates and Times are listed below

If you can try to make it at the date & time your league is listed it will help with volume and the creation of schedules in a manner based on league start dates. If that is not possible, come when you can during these times. Multiple league members need only come once. No other drop offs or mailing. Building is closed and we do not get Canada Post delivery.

Lockers: Anyone needing to pick up equipment from their locker can do so only at the registration times below. Maximum person in locker room is 2.

The club is committing to you, our members, by committing the funds necessary to get the club up and running for the season. In return, we ask that you commit to LCC and understand that we are a non-profit organization and will be unable to provide refunds if closures or cancellations occur before our costs are covered. DO NOT register if you do not accept this risk.

RETURN TO CURLING

Posted by Langley Curling Centre at Aug 28, 2020 1:33PM PDT ( 0 Comments )

UPDATE SEPT 12, 2020

AS SEPTEMBER 12 ARRIVES AND PASSES WE ARE STILL WAITING FOR THE TOL TO GIVE APPROVALS FOR REGISTRATION, A PRO SHOP SALE AND THE RETURN TO CURL GUIDELINES. ON-LINE PAYMENTS ARE COSTLY IN FEES SO WE OPTED TO DO IN-PERSON REGISTRATION PAYMENT THIS YEAR. UNFORTUNATELY WE HAVE RUN INTO A SNAG AS THE BUILDING CAN NOT BE USED FOR ANYTHING OTHER THAN ACTUAL SPORT ACTIVITY EXCEPT FOR LEASED SPACES LIKE MY OFFICE.
PLEASE BE PATIENT, YOUR CLUB MANAGER AND PRRESIDENT HAVE BEEN WORKING HARD. WE PLAN TO START CURLING BY SEP 27 AND GOOD NEWS IS THAT THE PLANT DID GET TURNED ON TODAY SO ICE MAKING WILL COMMENCE NEXT WEEK.

THANK YOU
-——————————————————————————————————

THE LANGLEY CURLING CENTRE PLANS TO RUN ALL REGULAR LEAGUES AND SOME ADDITIONAL OPTIONS THIS SEASON. WE’RE CURRENTLY WORKING HARD TO DEVELOP A COVID-19 SAFETY PLAN THAT OUTLINES THE POLICIES, GUIDELINES A ND PROCEDURES TO BE PUT IN PLACE TO REDUCE THE RISK OF COVID-19 TRANSMISSION. IN ACCORDANCE WITH PROVINCIAL HEALTH GUIDELINES AND OUR PARTNERS CURL BC AND THE TOL WE WANT TO MOVE FORWARD CAUTIOUSLY AND SAFELY FOR THE SAKE OF OUR STAFF, OUR MEMBERS AND OUR COMMUNITY.

LEAGUE INFORMATION AND PRELIMINARY START DATES HAVE BEEN UPDATED ON THE WEBSITE MENUS ABOVE.

PLEASE BE PATIENT AS WE CONTINUE TO GAUGE MEMBERSHIP, VOLUME, STAFF AND BUDGETS TO ANTICIPATE COST. EVERYTHING CONTINUES TO CHANGE. THE WEBSITE WILL BE UPDATED ON SEPT 12 FOR REGISTRATION INSTRUCTION AND OUR PRO SHOP SALE.

WE NEED VOLUNTEERS TO HELP MANAGE FLOW AND PROCESS IN THE FIRST FEW WEEKS OF CURLING. WITHOUT VOLUNTEERS THE CLUB MAY NEED TO HIRE ASSISTANTS WHICH WILL REFLECT IN REGISTRATION COSTS.

WE ARE ALSO IN NEED OF HELPERS FOR JUNIORS AND LITTLE ROCKS AS WE HAVE TO BREAK KIDS INTO SMALLER GROUPS. YOU DON’T NEED TO BE AN EXPERT CURLER AND YOU DON’T HAVE TO COMMIT EVERY WEEK. WE CAN WORK WITH YOUR SCHEDULE. WE DON’T WANT TO TURN AWAY KIDSTHEY ARE THE FUTURE OF THIS CLUB.

THANK YOU AND BE SAFE

The season ended so very fast
Can’t think of a situation in the past
That left us all so sad and let down
So many wanting that year-end crown

Quarantine, isolation, follow directions
Under the rules keep your connections
Keep optimistic that this will soon pass
Let’s hope this virus falls flat on its ass

So here the rocks sit all tucked away
Waiting for you and that opening day
When we can return to our favourite game
Healthy, together never the same

Stay healthy and safe!
